PLEASE POST! An important event for Sunday, June 28th:

CHALK4PEACE is a project that is very near and dear to my heart. On top of being an Artomatic artist, I am an art therapist, art educator in Fairfax County Public Schools working with regular ed students and students with emotional disabilities, AND the East Coast Coordinator for CHALK4PEACE, Inc. So, in light of what is going on in the world today, PLEASE come out and help us show the world how important peace is. How important it is to encourage each other and our youth to speak of and envision peace in our lives so we can put it into action in our daily lives. I'm hoping it will catch on and spread like wild fire!

On SUNDAY, JUNE 28th, Artomatic and CHALK4PEACE will welcome you in peace. Be a part of the largest worldwide outdoor chalk art project. Come join us and draw your ideas and images of peace on the front sidewalk outside the Artomatic building.

Sunday, June 28th
12pm-3pm
@12 meet upstairs in the 8th floor education room and we will head down around 1pm ish
Artomatic Building
55 M Street, SE
Washington, DC
Navy Yard Metro- Green Line

12-1pm: For younger artists, Story Time: THE PEACE BOOK and some sketching time to get ideas down.
1pm: Participants, young and old, are invited to head down to the sidewalk and chalk it up with peace!

I could REALLY use some HELP so if you'd also like to volunteer to help during the event or in any other way, please let me know. DONATIONS are also a BIG help. Even a small donation of $5 goes a long way. It will provide chalk for a few youngsters in needy areas anywhere in the world to draw their images of peace.

Thanks for all the support so that we can continue to paint the planet the colors of peace!

PEACE!!!
Marielle Mariano
East Coast Coordinator, C4P, Inc.

Revelation to me: This morning's Washington Post Reliable Source says a dozen artists received a buck from the anonymous "Benefactor." I got one too, but since I have work in several area venues at the moment, I didn't know where it came from. I love it! I took the note at face value and pinned the dollar up in my studio to remind me during times when nothing is working that I have an anonymous FRIEND out there. Thank you, Benefactor!!

Vonette, Artomatic is completely volunteer-run. There are amazingly talented, dedicated people who make this huge event happen, and it's a great experience to be part of.
